How to get from the castle to us
Leave the castle and you have a pleasant 19-minute walk: first through the old quarter below the fortress, then over the river and through the centre. The way is flat, fine with children and with a pushchair.

Keep straight on through the old quarter until you cross the bridge over the river.

The castle closes early. We don't.
A castle visit takes two to three hours. Most people come out between 13:00 and 16:00, hungry, and in winter the castle closes at 17:00. We are open until 22:00, so there is time to walk over without rushing, for a late lunch or for dinner.

Corvin Castle: opening hours and ticket prices
Corvin Castle, also called Hunedoara Castle or Hunyadi Castle, is open every day; on Mondays it opens at 12:00. The ticket covers the museum, the Guild House and the archaeology exhibition. Buy it at the gate or online, from the official website.

Before you set off for the castle
Buy the ticket online
An adult ticket is 55 lei (2026). Bought online, it saves you the queue at the ticket desk, which reaches 20–30 minutes in summer.
Come on a weekday
The quietest hours are Tuesday to Thursday mornings. Weekends and public holidays are crowded, especially in July and August.
Allow time and good shoes
The visit takes two to three hours, with steep stairs and narrow galleries. Wear comfortable shoes; a pushchair will not go up the towers.
The castle car park is cash only
The castle car park costs 20 lei, cash only. The alternative: park on Bulevardul Libertății, walk to the castle and eat with us on the way back.

What are Corvin Castle's opening hours?
From 1 April to 30 September the castle is open Tuesday to Sunday from 9:00 to 20:00, and on Mondays from 12:00 to 20:00. From 1 October to 31 March it closes at 17:00. Hours can change on public holidays, so check castelulcorvinilor.ro before you go.
How much is a ticket to Corvin Castle?
In 2026 an adult ticket costs 55 lei, pensioners pay 30 lei, pupils and students 15 lei, and preschool children go in free. A photo permit is 15 lei, a video permit 30 lei, and a guide costs 60 lei in Romanian or 100 lei in another language.
How long does a visit to Corvin Castle take?
Two to three hours at an easy pace, with stairs and narrow galleries. Go in the morning and you are out by lunchtime: we are a 19-minute walk away and open at 12:00.

Is there parking?
Yes, there are parking spaces right in front of the restaurant, on Bulevardul Libertății. If you left the car at the castle car park, you can walk over and go back after lunch.
Are you open on Mondays?
No, we are closed on Mondays. The castle is open on Mondays from 12:00, so if that is your castle day, we will see you from Tuesday. Tuesday to Sunday we are open from 12:00 to 22:00.
Do I need to book?
Not required, but we recommend it at weekends and in high season (July–August), when many visitors leave the castle at the same time. Call us with the day, time and party size and we will keep your table.
Do you have a menu in English?
Yes. The website and the printed menu are in Romanian, English, French, Italian, German and Hungarian, and the team speaks English.
Do you take cards? Do you have high chairs?
Yes: card, cash and phone payments. We have high chairs for children and, in summer, a terrace.
Do you take groups?
Yes. For groups and for guides travelling with tourists, call us a day ahead so we can set the table and, if you like, agree a fixed menu.
